Leyton Schnellert is the ICER Cluster Leader for Pedagogy and Participation and an associate Professor, Faculty of Education at UBC Vancouver. Dr. Schnellert researches teacher learning, practice, and collaboration. In particular he attends to how teacher professional development relates to student diversity, inclusive education, self- and co-regulation, and literacy instruction. His research grapples with the challenge of designing and facilitating teacher professional development that bridges theory and practice so as to achieve valued outcomes for students.

Nicole Crane is an early learning and literacy district support teacher in School District 23, Central Okanagan public school. She is passionate about meeting all learners where they are at by joining them on their learning journeys to becoming the best they can be.

Lisa Wilson of the Syilx people and the Okanagan Nation Alliance, is an educator and literacy expert. Lisa is currently the vice-principal at Mar Jok Elementary and is passionate about meeting all learners where they are at by joining them on their learning journeys to becoming the best they can be.

Donna Kozak has been a teacher for 35 years beginning her career in the primary grades, then working with middle school students in a literacy intervention program. Donna has spent the last few years as a school district coordinator in the area of early learning and literacy. She is currently a literacy consultant, a new PhD graduate, a community-engagement researcher and an adjunct instructor teaching sessional and post-baccalaureate courses in the area of early language and literacy development at the University of British Columbia – Okanagan, in Kelowna, British Columbia, Canada. Her research interests include participatory action research, multi-literacies, diversity and inclusion, culturally responsive pedagogy, home-school connections and family engagement, critical literacy, teacher preparation in literacy and literacy pedagogy in the early years
